Officer's black wool superfine mess jacket with Lieutenant colonel red wool shawl or roll collar, pointed cuffs and shoulder straps. The shoulder straps are edged in red, insignia for Lieutenant colonel. The straps fasten to the jacket near the collar by gilded brass buttons in the style of the Lieutenant colonel Australian Ordnance Corps. The jacket is lined with black silk. The jacket has no buttons down the front.
